North West Dementia Network
The Dementia Network has been established to provide access and dissemination of information on dementia care and services such as:
• Symptoms and Features of Dementia • Understanding Dementia • Dementia Care & Education • Practical Approaches in caring for Persons with Dementia • Teaching Caregivers how to support appropriately • Social Networks and appropriate routines • Life Enrichment Planning • Decision Making • Innovations to Caring
We want this information to be holistic - honoring individuality, diversity, ethnicity, and helping the person with dementia to be the best person they can be.
The Dementia Network exists in hopes of creating a vibrant learning community, reflective of our region LIHN 14 including Thunder Bay, Kenora, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Greenstone, Atikokan, Marathon, Manitouwage, Nipigon, Red Rock,Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Fort Frances, Rainy River.
The Goal of Dementia Network
Our goal is to unify the network in spite of geographical barriers and include a focus on regional population groups such as aboriginals and remote communities in addition to our mainstream communities.
